The PowerTender® 15/8/2 Amp LCD is the only Battery Tender® charger with a built-in LCD display and the only one with a dedicated Winter Mode — delivering three selectable output levels, Multi-Chemistry support for lead-acid and Lithium batteries, real-time charging feedback, and cold-weather optimization in a 5-Year warranty package that reflects the premium engineering behind it.

Three Output Levels — One Charger

A manual mode selector delivers three distinct output levels matched to different charging needs:

• 15 Amp — High-speed bulk charging for large, heavily depleted batteries. A 100Ah battery depleted to 50% recovers in approximately 4 hours.
• 8 Amp — Mid-range charging for standard automotive and marine batteries. Balances speed with reduced heat generation for AGM and Lithium batteries that are sensitive to high-current charging.
• 2 Amp — Precision maintenance charging for smaller batteries and long-term float maintenance. Suitable for powersports, motorcycles, and any application where slower, gentler charging is preferred.

ISM (Infinite Sequential Monitoring™) runs its full 4-stage algorithm at the selected output and selected chemistry — from bulk charge through absorption to float maintenance — automatically.

Multi-Chemistry: Lead-Acid and Lithium

A manual chemistry selector switches between lead-acid and Lithium (LiFePO4) charging profiles at any of the three output levels. Lithium batteries require distinct absorption voltages and a different maintenance protocol than lead-acid — the PowerTender® 15/8/2 Amp LCD delivers the correct ISM profile for each chemistry at 15 Amp, 8 Amp, or 2 Amp output. High-capacity Lithium battery systems in trucks, marine vessels, and RVs are fully supported alongside conventional lead-acid configurations.

LCD Display: Real-Time Charging Feedback

The built-in LCD display shows battery voltage, current charge stage, and charging status in real time — information that all other Battery Tender® chargers communicate only through LED indicators. For technicians, fleet managers, and detail-oriented owners who want to monitor charging progress directly, the LCD provides the visibility that LED-only chargers cannot.

Winter Mode: Cold Weather Charging Optimization

Winter Mode applies a higher charging voltage specifically calibrated for batteries in extreme cold. Below-freezing temperatures significantly reduce electrolyte conductivity in lead-acid batteries and require higher voltage to achieve full charge. Standard chargers attempt to deliver normal voltage and leave cold batteries chronically undercharged. Activating Winter Mode adjusts the entire ISM charging profile for cold conditions, ensuring fully charged batteries even in unheated garages, outdoor storage, and northern climates.

ISM: 4-Stage Charging at 15, 8, or 2 Amp

• Initialization — Battery health check before current flows at the selected output level and chemistry
• Bulk Charge — Full output at selected Amp level restores depleted capacity at the correct voltage for the selected chemistry
• Absorption — Current tapers automatically at any output level as the battery approaches full charge
• Float Maintenance — Correct maintenance protocol for lead-acid or Lithium delivered 24/7, indefinitely

Compatible battery size range: 14Ah to 250Ah at 12V. Lead-acid: flooded, AGM, gel cell, and sealed maintenance-free. Lithium: LiFePO4.

Automatic Temperature Compensation

In addition to manual Winter Mode, charge voltage adjusts automatically based on ambient temperature throughout all charging stages — a second layer of temperature management on top of the manual winter optimization.
