The SAE quick disconnect is the standard two-pin connector used across the Battery Tender® charger and accessory ecosystem. A ring terminal harness with SAE quick disconnect mounts permanently to your battery — connecting or disconnecting the charger takes one second with no direct battery terminal access, no corrosion from repeated clamp connections, and no tools required.
Yes, up to a maximum total cable length of 33 feet. Do not exceed this limit — excessive cable length causes voltage drop that affects charging performance. Battery Tender® SAE extension cables are available in 6ft, 12ft, and 25ft lengths, and in 4-packs for fleet and multi-vehicle installations.
The Battery Tender® DC Power Connector Kit is a marine-grade plug-and-receptacle system engineered for trolling motors, onboard chargers, electric reels, and any DC accessory requiring a secure, vibration-resistant, waterproof connection. The screw-lock design resists loosening from engine vibration and rough water, providing a permanent professional-grade DC connection rated for 80 Amps continuous at 12V through 48V.
All Battery Tender® accessories using the SAE J563 quick disconnect connector are compatible with all Battery Tender® chargers and maintainers that use the same connector — the Junior, Plus, PowerTender Standard line, Weather Resistant, and WaveCharge Standard line. Check product listings for specific compatibility with PowerPlus and WaveCharge Pro which use higher-current connector systems.
Ring terminal harness: mounts permanently to battery terminals and stays connected — ideal for vehicles in regular storage where you reconnect the charger each season. Alligator clips: temporary connection directly to exposed battery terminals — ideal for portable use, occasional charging, or any situation where permanent installation is not practical. The Alligator Clip and Ring Terminal Combo includes both in one cable.
